The Team

Yongjie Yi is the CIO of the Fund. Before joining GAO, he was a portfolio manager with Shidan Capital, a multi-strategy Japan fund with a focus on tactical trading using options and futures. His trading and risk management expertise stems from his experience at JPMorgan Tokyo as a Fixed Income Exotics Trader where he was ranked top 10% of his cohort globally. He holds a Bachelor's Degree (First Class Honors) in Electrical & Electronic Engineering from Imperial College of Science and Technology, and a Master in Financial Engineering from Cornell University.

Terry Lim is in charge of operations and risk management at GAO Capital, including the integration of new statistical techniques and machine learning frameworks into the fund's investment strategy. He has over 25 years of experience in GIC leading various middle & back office functions. Previously, he was also head of Investment Book Records (IBOR) & Portfolio Rebalancing Operations, as well as head of Performance Management, Management Reporting, and head of Global Markets Risk Analysis. Terry graduated with a Bachelor of Applied Science in Computer Engineering at Nanyang Technological University.

Priya Joseph advises GAO Capital’s India Public & Private Markets Strategy, leading the firm’s expansion in the region through her local network and operational experience. She also heads talent management and ESG integration. Priya is a board member and co-founder of Wonderla Holidays Ltd (NSE: WONDERLA) that operates amusement parks and resorts  in cities like Kochi, Bangalore, Hyderabad, and Bhubaneswar.  She is the founder of Adhyan, a foundation supporting vulnerable women and children. Priya holds a postgraduate degree in Public Health from the University of Melbourne and is a certified NLP Life Coach.

Dr Xu Kehan is the portfolio manager of Blue Matrix Cross-Asset L/S G10+. Prior to joining GAO Capital to manage the Sub-Fund, Dr. Xu co-founded a biopharma venture (2016–2024) and designed/licensed quantitative long/short global equity trading strategies for a major family office (2020–2023).

Dr. Xu is a professor of practice at Hong Kong PolyU. Dr. Xu’s research focuses on the marketing-finance interface and portfolio strategy and he has published in top scholarly journals such as the Journal of the Academy of Marketing Science, Journal of Management Accounting Research, Journal of Management, and the Academy of Management Perspectives.

Dr. Xu received his PhD in strategy from the Mays Business School at Texas A&M University and received his MBA from the University of Miami. He began his career as the CFO for a pharmaceutical manufacturer (IPO in the Hong Kong Stock Exchange)
